Terms and Conditions of Van Rental in Ireland

Insurance Cover/Transfers
Irish Van Rentals can provide insurance on commercial vehicle. This is subject to certain criteria and a deductible of €1600. This deductible cannot be reduced. Drivers must possess a full drivers license for at least 24 months prior to the pick up date and must be at least 25 years of age. Insurance is purchased online at the time of pickup. If you have your own fully comprehensive motor policy you may wish to transfer this onto our vehicle on a temporary basis. This is subject to your insurance company agreeing to do so. Irish Van Rentals will complete the initial insurance transfer to our vehicle. However the hirer is responsible for ensuring fully comprehensive cover is provided on our vehicle at all times during the rental.

Drivers License Requirements
All drivers must be in possession of a full-unendorsed driver's license at the time of rental. (Certain minor endorsements may be acceptable, please call us prior to booking). All drivers must have held a full driver's license for at least 24 months prior to hiring a van with Irish Van Rentals and must present themselves with their full-unendorsed driver's license at the pick up location at the time of rental. 

Age Requirements – Restrictions*
Own Insurance Policy 
Drivers must be over 21 years of age and have held their full license for at least 24 months prior to the date of pickup. There is no upper age limit.

Our Insurance 
The minimum age to rent a van is 25. Drivers must have held their fully, unendorsed license for at least 24 months prior to the date of pickup. The maximum age for renting a commercial vehicle on our insurance is 70.

Additional named drivers*
Own Insurance Policy 
Any persons covered comprehensively on your insurance policy will be insured to drive our vehicle. 

Our Insurance 
Additional drivers can be added locally for an additional charge of €10 per day per driver. Drivers must be at least 25 years of age and have held a full drivers license for at least 24 months prior to hiring a van. The maximum age to be a named driver on a commercial vehicle is 70.

Van Rental Collection:

Please note that we DO NOT provide parking for customer vehicles on our premises.

Going Abroad:

Commercial vehicles covered under OUR insurance policy cannot be taken off the island of Ireland. Using your own insurance Hirer’s leaving Ireland in one of our vehicles must provide their own fully comprehensive insurance and also purchase AA Five Star Cover. This is an excellent service giving travellers roadside assistance and numerous other benefits, also in the event of an accident the vehicle will be shipped back to the Republic of Ireland. The cover costs €54 for up to five days for AA members and €69 for non members. It can be purchased at www.aaireland.ie/travel-insurance/fivestar.asp

AA Callouts 
All Irish Van Rentals rates include 24 hour breakdown cover, however Irish Van Rentals reserves the right to add a callout charge to the hirers rental agreement in the event that the callout does not arise from a mechanical fault with the Irish Van Rentals vehicle. Callout charges resulting from incorrect fuel being added to the fuel tank, keys being locked into the vehicle or mislaid, off road recovery and wheel changes due to punctured tyres will be added to the rental costs. The current callout charge is Euro 100 plus tax.

Location Surcharge
If you are picking up your vehicle, at a non-airport location, a "location Surcharge" may apply. The surcharge will be determined by pick up date and or length of rental. If a location surcharge applies, it will be included in your rental quotation price.

Methods of Payment
For reservations made via the internet Irish Van Rentals accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Diners Club credit cards. Unfortunately Irish Van Rentals are unable to process payment on Debit Cards for internet bookings. When clients arrived to pick up their vehicle they must be in possession of and present to Irish Van Rentals a major credit card held in the main drivers name. This credit card must have sufficient funds to cover the cost of the vehicle, a petrol deposit and the rental excess amount. Unfortunately Irish Van Rentals cannot accept cash as a method of payment. We regret we cannot accept the credit card of a third party who will not be present at the time of the rental.

Speeding - Parking and other Endorsements/ Fines
Speeding - Parking and other Endorsements/ Fines are the responsibility of the hirer in full. Irish Van Rentals accepts no responsibility for any fine or payment. The renter is obliged to inform Irish Van Rentals of any fines or parking tickets issued whilst the renter is using the vehicle.

Van Types Available
Irish Van Rentals operates a fleet with many different makes and models of vans. Whilst every effort will be made to supply the reserved model, we reserve the right to supply a suitable alternative. Unfortunately due to our extended fleet we cannot guarantee a particular make or model and vehicles shown on our website are only examples of what we have on fleet. All vans are equipped with car radios and either cassette players or CD players. 

Baby Seats - Child Seats
Please note babyseats are not permitted in commercial vehicles

Fuel Policy - for your convenience
We are pleased to offer you the convenience of the Prepaid Fuel Option. You may now purchase your initial tank of fuel from Irish Van Rentals at the time of rental at a price that is very competitive with local fuel stations. This method eliminates the need for you to refill the tank before returning your rental vehicle. Please be aware that we are unable to give a refund for unused fuel.

Barrier Free Motoring: Irish Van Rentals will charge your credit card a fee of Euro 4.93 for cars and Euro 5.73 for commercial vehicles each time you pass through the toll plaza on the M50 motorway. All other toll charges are the responsibility of the renter and must be paid as you enter or exit the toll plaza. (For more information regarding toll roads and barrier free motoring please go here)

Deposits
A specified deposit will be charged to your credit card when you make your booking. This will be detailed on the booking page. Any balance due will be charged at time of pick up in EURO. Bookings for pick up within the next 45 days require full prepayment at time of booking.

Cancellations
15% of the rental cost is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation. If you have taken out cancellation protection this does not apply. We will then refund your deposit in full except for the cancellation protection insurance costs.

Grace Period
Please note there is no grace period on commercial vehicle rentals. Additional charges are incurred once the rental extends its original return date/time.

* Please note that at all times the final discretion rests with our location rental agent as to whether a booking is completed. In the highly unlikely event that the Irish Van Rentals rental agent is not completely satisfied with a drivers credentials/qualifications we reserve the right to refuse to release a rental car.
